WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR A 
BUSINESS CHECKING ACCOUNT

Determine which documents you may need to provide to verify your business registration and your authority to act on behalf of the business

To start an application, we will need:

  • Your business's Tax Identification Number as well as the required forms of ID and documentation listed below
  • A government-issued photo ID and secondary form of identification from either of the primary or secondary ID lists below.
  • Documents verifying your business registration and your authority to act on behalf of and control, manage, or direct the business.

Accepted Forms of Identification (ID)

Two forms of primary ID, or one form of primary ID and one of secondary ID can be used.

 

Primary ID:

  • Driver’s License (PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA or DC)
  • Military ID
  • US Passport (a foreign passport must be accompanied by a US Government ID)
  • Non-Resident Alien ID
  • Student or Temporary Visa
  • State-issued ID (PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA or DC; must be more than 6 months old)

 

Secondary ID:

  • Utility Bill
  • Credit Card
  • Valid Vehicle Registration

Sole Proprietorship
  • SSN of owner who will sign on the account
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration
Partnership
  • SSN of partners who will sign on the account
  • Partnership Agreement
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration
  • Information regarding the individual Beneficial Owners of the business. Beneficial Owners are those who own, directly or indirectly, 25% or more of the equity interests of the business. This information is collected to help fight financial crime.
  • Legal name, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Address, Citizenship, Percent of Ownership
LLC or LLP
  • SSN of members, managers or partners who will sign on account
  • Operating Agreement  
    • An Operating Agreement may not be necessary if it isn’t required by the state. Additional supporting documentation may be requested for account opening.
       
  • Limited Partnership Agreement (LLP only)
  • Certification of Formation/Organization (LLC) or Certificate of Limited Partnership (LLP)
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration
  • Information regarding the individual Beneficial Owners of the business. Beneficial Owners are those who own, directly or indirectly, 25% or more of the equity interests of the business. This information is collected to help fight financial crime.

Corporation

  • By-laws
  • Articles of Incorporation and any amendments
  • Certification of Formation/Organization
  • Board of directors meeting minutes (signed and dated).
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration
  • Information regarding the individual Beneficial Owners of the business. Beneficial Owners are those who own, directly or indirectly, 25% or more of the equity interests of the business. This information is collected to help fight financial crime.

Unincorporated Association/Organization
  • SSN of officers or directors who will sign on the account

  • Authorization letter on company letterhead
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration.

Non-Profit Organization
  • Review the entity type above associated with your Non-Profit Organization to determine which documents to provide (Partnership, LLC, Corporation)
  • A 501(c) tax form or state Non-Profit registration may be needed for certain product eligibility

Applying for a Firstrust
Business Checking Account

DISCLOSURES:

Minimum to open a Small Business Checking account is $100. Monthly service charge is $10, waived with a $1,000 minimum daily balance. Other financial institutions and/or ATM operators may impose a fee for the use of their ATM.

Business Impact Checking is available for nonprofit and sole proprietor businesses only. Minimum to open an account is $500. To avoid monthly service charge of $14, a $2,500 minimum daily balance is required.

Minimum to open a Relationship Business Checking account is $100. To avoid monthly service charge of $20, a $10,000 monthly average collected balance or $30,000 monthly average combined personal and business checking, savings, CD, loan and line of credit balance is required.

Minimum to open an Eagles Small Business Checking account and Eagles Relationship Business Checking account is $100. To qualify for bonus reward points, customers must open a new Eagles Small Business Checking account or Eagles Relationship Business Checking account with a debit card. Cardholder must make debit card purchases totaling $500 or more within 60 days of new account opening. Offer valid for new accounts opened 1/1/2024 – 12/31/2025. Terms and conditions of the Master Commercial Account Agreement, Visa Business Debit Card and ATM Card Cardholder Agreement, and the Rewards Points Program Rules apply to the Eagles Relationship Business Checking Account. Reward points have no cash value. Bonus reward points will be paid within 30 days after the completion of the $500 spend. Earn points for debit card purchases. Points will not be earned and the bonus reward point spend requirement will not be satisfied by using your debit card for ATM or other cash withdrawals, for transferring funds, for Bill Pay transactions (such as payment of utility bills, insurance premiums, or other recurring/periodic bills etc.), or for transactions using third-party money transmission service providers (for example, PayPal, Venmo, Money Gram, etc.). Points are earned for everyday qualifying Visa purchases. Offer can be withdrawn at any time.

Use of Autobooks requires you to accept and agree to the Autobooks Terms of Use and End User License Agreement.

ReadyDeposit® is an optional add-on service available for $35 monthly service fee. Accounts with ReadyDeposit® can avoid monthly service fee with $30,000 monthly average combined personal and business checking, savings, CD, loan and line of credit balances.

Other financial institutions and/or ATM operators may impose a fee for the use of their ATM.
